- approach: Marie Holohan is a native of Rathnure, Co. Wexford, A founding member of the Arts Ability Studio group at CUMAS New Ross, she is also a member of the Arts Ability steering Committee. Marie is a meticulous painter using pattern and colour to create vivid detailed paintings, resulting in highly imaginative landscapes. The starting point for Marie’s paintings will usually be a photographic image, but quickly this is discarded and her creativity leads her to these vivid landscapes. Marie mainly uses acrylic on canvas and likes to actively mix colours on the pallet. These are then applied in a linear pattern. Marie would work diligently on these paintings for weeks. Her work is in public and private collections. Marie is currently working towards a one person exhibition at the Wexford Arts Centre in March 2016.
